Today's holiday gift picks are books for anyone interested in style or fashion, which should go hand in hand in my opinion! :) I was able to find all of these online - in case you'd rather do your shopping on the web as opposed to having to deal with the hustle and bustle of standing in long lines and making your way through hordes of people, which, as the days pass is sure to get worse as we are quickly approaching Christmas day!! (Thank goodness for the Internet for busy people like myself who don't want to deal with the crowds after longs days of work.) Alas, happy shopping everyone!!

Holiday Gifts: Food
Popcornopolis Gift Baskets:
See's Candy
Shari's Berries
Nordstrom Salad Dressings and Soups
Here are some of my yummy edible gift ideas for the season. I happen to love popcorn, and who doesn't love a sweet treat like See's candy or chocolate covered strawberries? As for the Nordstrom salad dressings, they're delish too! Try the roma tomato basil soup on a cold winter day or maybe even as a pasta sauce. And, isn't it great that Nordy's does shopping right AND food as well?!? If you've never experienced a Nordstrom Cafe, the one here in Northern California in Sacramento is great! I highly recommend it. Anyway, hope you like my gift ideas for today. Happy shopping!!

Table Topics from Nordy's
I have never played any of these before, but they look really entertaining. I think I may be getting someone one of these for a Christmas gift this year. You can order them online at Nordstrom.com. Happy shopping!!

These pretties are all selections that I love from Bauble Bar, which is such a cool website. Even better? Every Monday and Friday they mark down their merchandise!! Happy shopping! :)
'Tis The Season...
for some holiday spirit, which I've been lacking a bit this year. I have to admit that I got a little emotionally caught up in the craziness of Black Friday, and it really put a damper on my Christmas spirit . I won't go into full detail here, but let me just say that I do think it's a sad state of affairs in our country when we are so consumed by material possessions that we will force people to have to miss their entire Thanksgiving day with their families (which, in my opinion, should be our most important focus) because they have to work and prepare for the insanity that entails Black Friday - an early morning monstrosity dedicated to consumerism, which studies are now showing really don't even lead to the great savings that shoppers believe they are getting. I am thankful that I have a career that allows me to be with my family on Thanksgiving, and I truly wish that Black Friday would go away so that the rest of America could say the same thing.
Now, with all that being said, I'm officially putting it behind me and moving on to the lighter side of things. I am going to allow myself to enjoy the holiday season and think of it not as a mass celebration of consumerism, but instead as what it is really meant to be about, and that is a season of giving and selflessness!
I think I shall start by giving you my ideas for what I think would make some great holiday gifts, because, hey...I like shopping and getting/receiving gifts as much as the next person. (I just don't think people should have to miss out on Thanksgiving day with their families because of it!) So, I hope you like my gift giving ideas. Stay tuned for more....
